The Sustainable Development Fund is a grant scheme to help deliver community-based projects within Chichester Harbour Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB). The aim is to assist projects that will look after the AONB now and for the future.
We have £60,000 available for community-led projects within the AONB for 2008/9. All funds must be granted, projects completed and funds claimed by the end of March 2009. Grants are provided on a 'first-come first-served' basis so please apply as soon as possible.
The Chichester Harbour Sustainable Development Fund is delivered and managed by Chichester Harbour Conservancy for the Chichester Harbour AONB. Resources are provided by DEFRA via Natural England.
To apply for a grant, please first read the Information Leaflet and the Criteria and Sustainability Checklist. If you think your project may be eligible please contact the Harbour Office and discuss it with the AONB Officer. If the Officer thinks your project may be suitable for funding, you will be asked to complete the Online/PDF Application Form and read the Terms and Conditions.
These leaflets can be downloaded as pdf documents. Alternatively please contact the Harbour Office for a hard copy.
Once received, your application will be assessed by a sub-committee of the Conservancy. If successful a grant will be approved. The grants will be awarded on a 'first-come, first-served' basis. All approved expenditure will need to be made by 31st March. See the Terms and Conditions for further details.
