This photo was really special to me as I often wander down to the harbour at Emsworth, just for the activity and atmosphere there and to soak up the feeling of being by the sea, and I love how the boats come and go and get rearranged at different angles with each passing tide. I also really love low tide down at the harbour so you can get down in the shingle and closer to the boats, and get a different perspective than just looking down at them from the millpond walkway. With the photo I really wanted to try and capture something of this essence of Emsworth harbour. On this occasion the angle of the boat caught my eye as the sweep of its sides seemed to lead into the background, with the other boats and going about their business experiencing the harbour.

Nice to see a photo that doesn't look stylised or altered - as so many or the others here do. It's all there if you're smart enough to capture it!

A good composition that you have taken a photo of adhering to the rule of thirds. You have also avoided using any filters, unlike some of the other entries on the page! Shame that you have the date on it!!
