About Friends of Chichester Harbour
Constitution
The Friends were formed in 1987 to provide a focus for voluntary activities for the preservation of the Harbour.
Since then a wide range of conservation tasks has been undertaken, often in conjunction with other local conservation groups. We are now a registered charity.
Our growing membership includes sailors, fishermen, walkers, naturalists, wildfowlers, local residents and visitors and is open to any person interested in the well-being of Chichester Harbour.

Objects
- to help maintain, repair and improve Chichester Harbour and its amenity area.
- To protect and preserve the countryside and wildlife along its coast.
- To advance the education of the public in relation to the harbour.
Represented on the Advisory Committee of the Chichester Harbour Conservancy.
Affiliated to the British Trust for Conservation Volunteers.

By joining us you add your support to our efforts to conserve the Harbour.
We will keep you in touch with events with our quarterly newsletter.
Assistance with our practical work would also be most welcome.
Practical Work
Includes:
- planting trees and shrubs
- reed cutting and stream maintanance
- litter clearance
- coppicing and woodland management
- wardening nesting sites
- access projects
- bird surveys
- shoreline monitoring
All in the company of like minded volunteers.
