Summary of evidence Radiocarbon Dating Age: 5050 Before present What era: Neolithic Sample from: 5.5m     Sediments Brownish grey soft humic silt. Occasional organic inclusions. Sharp (?erosional) interface  Pollen Low count of pollen but some alder, lime and elm. Sparse  Foraminifera &            Ostracods N/A  Diatoms Brackish/marine  Molluscs Mainly terrestial molluscs which were able to survive dry seasons
