Informal Education

There is a year round programme of interesting and varied activities, guided walks and solar boat trips open to the general public.

Details are listed in the Guided Walks, Activities and Solar Boat Leaflet which is available from the Harbour Office at Itchenor, in local libraries and information offices or at www.conservancy.co.uk

For more information or to discuss individual requirements please contact Judi Darley the Education Officer responsible for Activities on 01243 512301 or email harbourmaster@conservancy.co.uk

Formal Education

The teaching team responds to requests for individually planned field trips anywhere in the Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty or for visits (road shows) to schools, colleges and other institutions. Teachers offer a range of input from talks with slides to curriculum related music, drama and environmental puppetry workshops. The solar powered floating classroom ‘Solar Heritage’ (seating capacity 50) is also available for accompanied trips afloat.

All areas of the curriculum are covered for any age.

The service is run by the Harbour Conservancy at cost and is administered by a team of qualified teachers, assisted by volunteers from Friends of Chichester Harbour.
