Bosham Boat Park
We have now handed back the car park at Bosham to Chichester District Council after many successful years. A big Thank you to all our Car Park Customers - many of whom we have come to know well over the years. The income from the car park (as with all income to the Conservancy) is used to protect and enhance Chichester Harbour and to maintain its' special beauty. Needless to say the loss of that income creates some challenges for us and we look to every opportunity to ensure sustainability of the services we provide.
We are now working with the District Council Car Park team to develop future arrangements for the boat park. We are pleased that CDC have indicated that they are keen for the Conservancy to remain as the managing agent for the Bosham Boat Park. Everyone recognises that the Boat Park is a central facility for harbour users locally. With economic pressures leaning heavily on small marine businesses within the harbour we are doing everything we can to maintain and support the facility.
We are working closely with CDC to ensure that this important site remains a viable and effective service for years to come. We are grateful to Tim Cath for the service he has provided over the last few years and hope to continue our partnership with him into the future.
It appears that we will need to reorganise some of the boat storage areas for safety reasons and to gain most efficiencies for the site and this challenge is being discussed presently.
We will keep you updated through this website with any developments as soon as we can.
