Harbour Honey Bees' New Swarm

Update from beekeeper Colin:

"I was called out to collect the first new swarm of the year last week, and duly relocated it alongside our existing hive on Thorney Island.  It was nearly dark when I arrived on site and the existing hive still had a significant quantity of guard bees lurking about the entrance board.  A couple of weeks earlier I'd increased the number of boxes on the hive from two to three as they are growing new brood rapidly, and managing to collect some stores.

"I'm sure we will get more swarms in the next few weeks, and when the time is right I may well try and split some of my other hives to provide us with a bigger number of colonies."
