Chichester Harbour Wildfowlers Association was formed in 1956 due directly to the 1954 Protection of Birds Act and the growing need to protect the interests of the local Wildfowler and help to sustain the legal pursuit of Ducks, Geese and Waders below the Sea Wall.
Prospective new shooting members undergo a stringent training period in order to be able to distinguish between quarry and non quarry species as well as learning boundaries, shooting law and etiquette.
CHWA actively warden all its shooting and non shooting areas within Chichester Harbour.
