CHICHESTER HARBOUR IS LOOKING HEALTHY IN 2013!
Chichester Harbour Conservancy has carried out a health check to find out how the Chichester Harbour Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) is looking in 2013. The piece of work, called "The State of the AONB" showed that Chichester Harbour provides a tranquil and rural haven in the densely populated south coast. The report also highlights some of the challenges for this special area, including population growth, housing development and sea level rise.
Siún Cranny, Director of Chichester Harbour Conservancy said: "This work shows just how important Chichester Harbour is for local people and visitors to enjoy; and we are working very hard to conserve its special character for future generations".
The report will help the Conservancy to carry out monitoring of the condition of this protected landscape, and will underpin the new Management Plan for 2014-19. The State of the AONB report is available to download.
