We organise a year round programme of walks, activities and boat trips that give you a chance to learn more about this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in an informal setting. We walk most areas of the Harbour over the year and cover a wide range of interests.
You can browse the online calendar to find events on specific days. The leaflet for March to September 2019 is in production at the moment and will be available soon.
Costs and booking
Some events need to be booked in advance, others you can turn up and pay on the day. Full details will be shown with the event. Advance bookings can be made online or by phone and payment can be made by credit/debit card or cheque. For non-bookable events, fees are collected on the day in cash. Please bring correct change.
It is occasionally necessary to cancel boat trips or activities due to weather conditions or insufficient numbers. In this case a full refund will be given. Customer cancellations will be refunded only if we can fill your place and the fee was £10 or over. Customer cancellations where fees are under £10 are non-refundable.
Minimum and Maximum Numbers
Please note that events may be shortened or cancelled if there are fewer than four attendees. On some events we need to limit numbers and for these, booking in advance is essential.
Children must be accompanied by an adult who is responsible for them at all times. We cannot accept unaccompanied children. Please consider the suitability of an event for your child's enjoyment.
Please dress appropriately for the event and the weather. Footwear that can cope with wet and muddy conditions is ideal as even in dry weather some paths may be muddy due to high tides. On long walks a day backpack is recomended. Dress warmly for boat trips as it usually colder on the water.
Dogs are welcome on walks unless stated but may have to be kept on a lead on the narrower paths. Dogs are not allowed on birdwatching walks and only assistance dogs are allowed on the Solar Heritage. On long walks please bring a dish and water for your dog.
Conservancy Staff may take photos to record an event and these may be used in future publications. Please inform the leared at the start of an event if you do not wish to be photographed.
Harbour Education Centre
Some of the activities take place in the Education Centre, this is situated on the Quay, Dell Quay, PO20 7EE, off the A286 about 2 miles south of Chichester. Parking is on the roadside - please walk down to the quay, disabled badge holders may park on the quay next to the Centre by prior arrangement with the Harbour Office.
Details of where to meet are given alongside each activity. Please note that postcodes may not always give the exact location of the meeting place. Further information on commonly used meeting places can be found here.
See the Solar Heritage page for full details.
