As our National Landscape Lead Ranger, you’ll play a pivotal leadership role maintaining, conserving and restoring the beautiful landscape of Chichester Harbour.

The role changes with the seasons providing varied challenges and priorities throughout the year.  You’ll lead the Ranger team, working on practical conservation projects and activities; bramble clearance, tree planting, nature regeneration and site restoration initiatives.  You and your team will manage and maintain access to footpaths and cycle routes as well as numerous sites and assets throughout the landscape.

You will engage and lead an enthusiastic and passionate group of volunteers, tackling a variety of projects and collaborating with various partners on nature regeneration ventures.

The National Landscape Lead Ranger role offers a fantastic blend of land-based with occasional water-based work, ensuring a diverse, challenging and hugely rewarding experience in the beautiful and unique Chichester Harbour.

About You

You will be:

  • Experienced in leading teams that manage varied landscape projects and initiatives.
  • Able to demonstrate how you proactively develop and deliver a programme of work to tackle the priorities and projects of a protected landscape as well as respond to urgent work requests.
  • Highly proficient in the safe operation and maintenance of relevant machinery and equipment.
  • Keen  to learn and integrate into our enthusiastic, dedicated team.
