There are a number of ways to get involved with our work on a voluntary basis. Our rangers lead weekly conservation work parties – everyone is welcome! The work parties are normally held on weekday mornings and include a variety of practical conservation tasks, from bramble clearance, coppicing and tree planting, to mending paths, litter picking and survey work. More details of any volunteering opportunities are available here.

Volunteers from the Chichester Harbour Friends play a huge role in supporting these work parties, donating hundreds of hours every year to look after the harbour and surrounding landscape.

Recent volunteer projects include the Return of the Tern initiative, which is helping to restore populations of threatened seabirds, and the recent re-introduction of thousands of native oysters to Chichester Harbour.
