Filming and Photography in Chichester Harbour

Guidelines for Commercial Filming, Drone Filming and Photoshoots

Chichester Harbour is a beautiful and highly sought-after location for filming and photography. As both a nationally important landscape and a working harbour, it’s a special place, valued for its natural beauty, wildlife, local communities and recreational use.

If you’re planning commercial filming or professional photography in Chichester Harbour, including drone filming, you’ll need permission from Chichester Harbour Conservancy (CHC), the statutory harbour authority. Much of the land around the Harbour is privately owned, so depending on your chosen location, you may also need permission from the landowner or seabed owner.

We’re happy to work with production teams to understand what you’re looking to achieve and help you plan your shoot safely and responsibly, while protecting the special qualities of the Harbour.

When you get in touch, please share as much information as you can about your plans. This might include your proposed dates and times, locations, crew numbers, equipment, vessels or vehicles, and a short description of the filming or photoshoot.

Please send your enquiry to info@conservancy.co.uk.
