They’re off to Siberia for the summer to breed, but they’ll be back in the autumn, hopefully with lots of juveniles 🤞🐣

We’ll miss their distinctive chuntering, but it won’t be long now before the terms are back to distract us!

We are seeking a skilled Leases and Licences Officer to take responsibility for managing Chichester Harbour Conservancy’s Leases and Licences Portfolio.

This part-time role (22.5hrs per week, flexible) will oversee a range of land and marine leases, licences and land use agreements. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced property professional with strong negotiation and organisational skills to play a key role in the stewardship of a diverse property portfolio.

🪶Wheatear Wednesday (or white-arse Wednesday?!)🪶

As the wading birds numbers in the harbour drop, in come the Wheatears! These small birds pass through on migration to their breeding grounds on the heaths and moors of the UK. You can often see them around the coastline, showing a distinctive black "T" on their white rump as they flit from rock to rock.

The name Wheatear has nothing to do with your favourite breakfast cereal - instead coming from the old English "wheat" meaning white, and "ear" referring to arse!
